Welcome to my website and thank you for stopping by!
I am delighted to have been selected as a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar on behalf of the Rotary Foundation and my Rotary District, 5510 (Northcentral and Northeast Arizona). As a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, I will be studying in the Faculty of Judicial and Social Sciences at the Universidad de Concepcion in Concepcion, Chile from March to December 2008. I will also be involved with community service projects in my Rotary host district, participating in volunteer work in the local community, and serving as an Ambassador of Goodwill in my host community.
I will begin my scholarship year in Santiago, Chile on February 4th. I will take four weeks of intensive Spanish language classes at a Spanish language institute. I will then travel to Concepcion, Chile to begin my classes at the Universidad de Concepcion in early March.
On the following website you will information about the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship program, my host and sponsoring Rotary districts, a little bit about myself, updates about my Chilean experience, photos, and more. Feel free to browse the links to the left. If you have suggestions on improving the website or would like to contact me with questions about the scholarship program, please email me at Diane.Rish@gmail.com I would be happy to hear from you!
This amazing opportunity would not have been possible without the generosity and support of my sponsor District, District 5510; my sponsoring Rotary Club, Carefree/Cave Creek Rotary Club; my host Rotary District, District 4360; my host Rotary Club, Rayen de Concepcion; and the Rotary Foundation. There are hundreds of Rotarians and people in the community that I am forever indebted to for their generous advice and support as I prepare for my assignment in Chile. I wish to extend a special thanks to: My mom and dad, the Wilson family, Raas Rowe, and Chris Schiffahauer, my Rotary counselor.
